Bags Of Love

We are a group of dedicated members that see a need in today’s world and are reaching out to help. Our society has become more complex and challenging, creating new needs and opportunities for ministry to the hurting, disenfranchised and neglected.
This ministry is focused on making a difference in the lives of children- the future of our society- through cooperation with local authorities in providing personal items to them when they are removed from their home settings. This usually happens when it is discovered that drugs are used and or manufactured in that home. Children are not allowed to take baggage with them and often others must provide the basics for daily living and even a soft cuddly toy.
We welcome you to join in this worthy project with us today.
We construct a Duffle Bag with pocket and a Blanket/Quilt as well as collect Donations of personal care items to place inside each bag.
Here are the measurements for THE BAG:
Use a sturdy material; they will get used a lot.
You need 45 inches by 30 inches (6 bags can be made from 5 yards – if you use 60” fabric you can make 8 bags)
Cut 1 pocket- 9” wide X 13 ½” long - finish edges
Cut 1 pocket flap – 9” x 6 ½” – finish edges
5/16” cotton cord/rope-45” long
1 Button – 1” OR sew on Hook & Loop tape (Velcro) 1 ½” piece
Please reinforce all button holes and cord holes so that they will not tear out. Be sure and sew on the Velcro also.

The Blankets & Quilts
Finished item needs to measure 48” x 60”
Use any traditional quilt pattern you have OR knit or crochet a blanket.
**We are unable to place any religious literature in the bags so we will place a label on the quilts with the church logo and our church name, denomination and phone number.

And a Donor Receipt for tax purposes can be issued upon request.
